Indications

Infants, children, adolescents and grown-ups of all ages with different complaints can be treated with osteopathy. Treatment options exceed treatment of the musculoskeletal system.
Underlying diseases such as osteoporosis or high blood pressure generally are not a reason to not undergo osteopathic treatment. However, the osteopath has to be informed of any diseases and any medication taken by the patient. Only in very rare cases is osteopathic treatment counter-indicated

Examples of complaints that can be treated well with osteopathy:

  • Chronic and acute pain of the musculoskeletal system, spine and all joints (e.g. herniated discs, cervical syndrome, lower back pain, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, bursitis trochanterica, functional defective positions of the feet etc.)
  • Headaches, migraines, dizziness
  • Neurological diseases (e.g. multiple sclerosis, insults, Parkinson’s disease etc.)
  • Symptoms associated with accidents and surgery
  • Ailments of the ear-nose-throat area (e.g. chronic sinusitis, chronic otitis media, tinnitus etc.)
  • Problems of the mandibular joint, accompanying treatment for orthodontic treatment
  • Ailments of the respiratory tract (e.g. chronic bronchitis, asthma bronchiale, breathing problems after pneumonia etc.)
  • Problems of the gastrointestinal tract (e.g. obstipation, digestion problems etc.)
  • Problems of the urogenital tract (e.g. menstrual cramps, prostate issues, incontinence etc.)
  • Allergies and neurodermatitis
  • Accompanying treatment during pregnancy and post-partum
  • Treatment of infants (e.g. nursing problems, digestion problems, wryneck, infantile colic, sleeping disorders etc.)
  • Congenital and acquired developmental issues (e.g. dyslexia, concentration issues, hyperactivity etc.)
  • Additionally osteopathy can be used as preventive measure.
